Soyak House is located at the meeting place of the East and West, where a tapestry of cultural & historic architecture give the city its soul. Interior architect Erdem Hamza was appointed to re-design the house into a non-monotonous modern living space where art and craftsmanship meet. This was achieved by incorporating vibrant colours, iconic materials and beautiful finishes – features encapsulated by Samuel Heath brassware.

LMK Industrial fixtures were selected for two bathrooms, while Style Moderne fixtures radiate Art Deco influence in the powder room. Designed with a bold and authoritative approach, these solid brass fixtures add strong design detail, while the Urban Brass & Non Lacquered finishes used across the bathrooms and additional powder room connect design integrity throughout the living space. Sanitaryware matching this cool metallic finish including a shower frame, basin legs and even cabinet hardware successfully ground the fantastical elements of the interiors with a demure, timeless narrative.
From architectural construction down to the final materials, Erdem Hamza aims to create living spaces that are as full of life as the cities that surround them. The studio looked to enhance attention to craftsmanship by using Italian polished plaster on multiple bathroom walls. This material effectively contrasts against the golden finish of the bath & shower mixer, basin tap and surrounding details and it’s coarse texture adds an extra layer of interest to complement the brushed detailing of Urban Brass.
Mixing a variety of striking interior styles including Moroccan, Art Deco and Bauhaus may seem an ambitious move for most, however taking risks is a definitive signature of Erdem Hamza projects. A wide mix of design influences invited the import of premium fixtures, furnishings and materials from manufacturers in Italy, Spain and Morocco which all play into the well-travelled, discerning personification of Soyak House. British-made brassware by Samuel Heath adds to this iconic portfolio, for a design with strong integrity.
